Can my Birth certificate still be used when traveling if it's sealed in plastic or tape?
My expired passport won't arrive in time, and my birth certificate is falling apart. If I seal it up in clear tape, will it still be valid at the Canadian border
NO! As the others mentioned, there are detailed security features on a birth certificate that is not originally laminated. If you laminate/tape etc it will NOT be accepted. It does say on the back void if laminated.
If you were born in Ontario, you can order your birth certificate online and they guarantee it will be to you within 15 business days. (dont do it by mail or it will take weeks) You can pay to have it faster in some cases.
