How do you stop diarrhea?
I have been having diarrhea for the last 38 hours. I have been going to the bathroom every 30 to 45 min with a waterfall coming out each time. I dont seem to be dehydrated i have been drinking a lot of water and orange juice. I am diabetic so the OJ is to keep my sugars up. I haven't been urinating alot durning this time. Little bits here and there but not like i used to. I need to know how to make this stop. It started with cramps in my stomic yesterday morning then came the waterfall that never seems to end and still waterfall now. Please let me know asap so i can sleep and not spend all night on the toylet again..
Don't eat or drink anything for 2 hrs. Then try sipping Gatorade (to rehydrate you); room temp. Ginger Ale (stir with fork to get rid of bubbles); coke; If you can keep that in try dry toast,...if starts again repeat stopping everything & then starting. Suck on ice chips. Once stopped eat very blandly....chicken soup with rice, noodles, baked potato, jello, ices.
TAKE Kaopectate, Pepto Bismol or Immodium. Use as much as they say.
If it doesn't stop by torrow AM, call your MD, say it's emergency & see if he tell's you to go to ER to get rehydrated with IV.
I know you might have to change some of what I've told you because of your diabetes.
